CR1424f: Polystyrene 24 roundwell microplates from Porvair (used for shear-sensitive strains and cells) 1 ml culture volume per well round wells, so lower shear forces at 250 rpm, OTR ~30 mmol O2/min accurate biomass determination from OD 0.05 up till OD 15 to be used with sandwich cover CR1324e
CR1424e: Polystyrene 24 square well MTP with white walls 2.5 or 3 ml culture volume per well at 250 rpm, OTR ~40 mmol O2/min accurate biomass determination from OD0.05 up till OD10 response curve saturates above OD10 to be used with sandwich cover CR1224f or CR1224g
CR1496dg: Polystyrene greyish-white square 96-half-deepwell microplates 250 μl culture volume per well at 250 rpm, OTR = ~40 mmol O2/min extra turbulenence due to square shape prevents settling of cells, see video accurate biomass determination from OD 0.05 up till OD 10 OD 10-32 measurable (though less accurate) light greyish color of walls (a tiny concentration of carbon black is added to the white plastic) fully eliminates cross-talk no leachables (transparent bottom is laser-welded, not glued) to be used with sandwich cover CR1396b high OTR allows exponential growth of baker's yeast up to OD 6-7 (see growth curve below) applicable for both bacterial and yeast cultures replaces the (discontinued) white-walled CR1496d MTPs, that had some cross-talk under certain conditions, and had a poorer response at high OD has a similar response curve as CR1496d, but not identical, so for the most accurate results, a new strain calibration is required (see graph right-below)

CR1496dc: as CR1496dg (see above), but made from Topas COC 8007 has a better resistance to some solvents contains a higher percentage of carbon black, resulting in a better response at higher OD values
MTPs with an increased tolerance to organic solvents:
CR1496cp: half-deepwell MTP made from polypropylene, containing only low concentrations of additives has a very thin round bottom (90% transparent) resistant to practically all organic solvents response curve comparable to that of CR1496dg
CR1424g: 24 glass tubes in a 3D printed nylon rack
